Mobile Maintenance Training Courses

 Course Objective:

The Mobile Maintenance Training Course focuses on the skills required to repair both the hardware and software of a mobile phone. The course is divided into 2 parts theoretical and applied. Both parts of the course are seen as essential in order for the leaner to become good mobile technicians.

Upon successful completion of the course, students will obtain an accredited certification from the ministry of higher education.

Course Outline:

• Introduction to electronics and phone maintenance and customer service

​

• Diagnosis and Troubleshooting

1. Properly diagnose repairs​

2. Referral information on preferred vendors

3. Common symptoms of hardware and software issues

4. Identify water damage

5. Identify whether the device had been previously repaired

​

• Disassemble and assemble procedures

  1. Identify the purpose of different tools and peripherals​

  2. Disassemble devices without creating further damage on popular brands

  3. Learn different dismantling procedures

  4. Identify basic part functions and how to replace them including microphones, cameras, sim and memory card readers, loud speakers, audio speakers, headphone jack, charging port flex cable, and Wifi antennas

  1. Troubleshoot software issues for Android and for iPhone​

  2. Password removals

  3. Network unlock

  4. Identify when a phone has been blocked by the   provider due to theft or non-payment

  5. Tunes errors

• Screen and Assembly Replacement

  1. Change touchscreen digitizers with heat removal, high pressure or screw assembly​

  2. Techniques to prevent fingerprints and dust on display image

  3. Identify which adhesive to use on each device

  4. Techniques to repair dents on frames

  5. How to install the proximity sensor after replacing a screen

• Water Damage Removal

  1. Identify exterior and interior corrosion​

  2. Successfully execute different cleaning methods

  3. How to remove the motherboard plaque in order to remove water damage

  4. Tools and chemicals used to remove water damage

• Refurbish Screens with UV Glue Method

  1. How to identify if UV method is required

  2. Techniques to prevent damage and to save time during the UV process

  3. Techniques to separate glass from LCD screen

  4. Cleaning techniques and materials for UV glue

  5. How to prevent UV glue from staining front camera

  6. How to use molds for UV method

  7. Glass preparation for UV method application

  8. Application of UV glue

  9. UV glue curing method

• ​Soldering Techniques for Motherboard Components

  1. Knowledge of basic soldering peripherals

  2. Component replacement such as fuses, resistors, inductors and screen connectors

  3. Charging ports, HDMI ports, volume, camera and power switches, sim card slots, vibrators, memory card slots, microphones and batteries

  4. Remove on-board components such as:

  5. How to use a microscope to repair circuits

  6. Knowledge of re-flow peripherals

  7. Proper maintenance of re-flow equipment

  8. Repair back-light on iPhone and Samsung.

  9. How to use the multi-meter

  10. Circuit bridging and circuit jumper techniques

  11. Soldering application and removal techniques
